THE DETAILS

  • Studio Rental: $250 - includes 90 min studio rental. Tie-dye workshop included. $75 for each additional 30 min.
  • Tie-Dye Workshop: Includes dyes, guided step-by-step instruction, and a take home box for the tie-dyed shirt.
  • Blanks: Adult and youth white shirts are available for purchase at an additional $5 per shirt.
  • BYO-GARMENTS: OR you bring any garments you wish the for the entire party at no extra charge. 
  • Party Time: You get the studio for a full 90 min. This includes time for decorating the space, tie-dye activity and celebrating.
  • Food and Beverage: Participants are welcome to bring their own food and refreshments.
  • Sweet Deals: Get a whopping $50 off your studio rental when you purchase goodies for your party from a bakery or restaurant in the historic district.

GUEST EXPERIENCE:

Q: Can I bring a friend to watch the tie-dye event without participating?
A: We can accommodate 25 total guests. This includes the total number of guests even if they are not joining us for the tie-dye activity. 

Q: Can I take pictures and videos during the tie-dye event?
A: Absolutely! Capture the creative process and share your experience on social media. Follow us now so you don't forget to tag us - @chucklou.stc

Q: Can I bring my own decorations for a birthday party or special occasion?
A: Yes, feel free to bring decorations to personalize the space for your celebration. Just make sure you leave time within your 90 min rental to both set up and remove the decorations.

Q: Is there a recommended group size for tie-dye events?
A: We can accommodate various group sizes from 2 - 25

Q: How does the tie-dye process work?
A: We provide all the essentials – dyes, step-by-step instructions, and a box to take it home with you. You choose your colors, create your design, and we guide you through the process.

Q: How long does the tie-dye process take?
A: The tie-dye session typically lasts about 20-40 minutes.

Q: Is tie-dyeing messy?
A: We suggest you wear clothing you don't mind getting a bit colorful. Anything the dyes touch will be permanently vibrant!

Q: Are the dyes safe?
A: Yes, our dyes are skin-safe, water based and non-toxic.

Q: If I choose to supply my own shirts for my party, what kind of shirt is best?
A: Cottons and poly/cotton blends are best, however our dyes will work on most fabrics. Feel free to reach out if you are not sure if your shirts will work - events@chucklou.com.

Q: If I choose to supply my own shirts for my party, can I bring something other than a t-shirt?
A: Yes! We enthusiastically encourage you to think outside the box with what you can tie-dye. Some past examples of garments include - aprons, onesies, pillow cases, canvas shoes, lingerie.


STUDIO SPACE AND FACILITIES:

Q: Will the studio be open to the public during my event?
A: The studio will be closed the public. However, the shop space at the front of the store will remain open to public shoppers.

Q: Is there a restroom available in the studio space?
A: Yes, we have restroom facilities available.

Q: Can I tour the studio space before booking an event?
A: Absolutely! Contact us to schedule a studio tour.

Q: Is the studio space air-conditioned or heated?
A: Yes, but we do keep the door open at the front of the store most days to attract customers into retail space located at the front of the store.

Q: Does the studio supply plates, cups, silverware, napkins, and serving utensils?
A: No, you will need to bring your own serving supplies.

Q: Is there Wi-Fi available in the studio?
A: Yes, we offer complimentary Wi-Fi access upon request.

Q: Is the studio space wheelchair accessible?
A: Absolutely, the studio is wheelchair accessible. At the front door, there is a small ledge that could be difficult to cross over.

It's important to note that being in the historic district of St. Charles means navigating cobblestone streets and sidewalks, which could pose challenges. Feel free to reach out for more detailed information or if you have specific requests.

Q: Are there accommodations for individuals with mobility challenges?
A: Participants are standing throughout most of the 20 to 30 min workshop. Seating may be limited for guests.


FOOD AND BEVERAGE:

Q: Can I bring my own food and beverage for the event?
A: Absolutely! You can bring your own catering or snacks at no extra charge.

Q: How does the $50 discount work?
A: In order for the $50 discount to be applied, the food for your event must be from a bakery or restaurant located on Main Street or 2nd Street in the City of St. Charles. Your food order must exceed $40 to be eligible for the $50 studio rental discount.

You can upload a copy of your receipt from the restaurant or bakery when you book. OR email a copy of the receipt from the restaurant or bakery to events@chucklou.com. Please allow 5-7 days for the refund to be processed.

Q: Can you recommend local catering options for our event?
A: Certainly! We have a list of preferred local catering partners. Ask for recommendations.

Q: Can we bring any type of food
A: Yes

Q: Is your studio nut free?
A: No 

Q: Is there a designated area for serving food during the event?
A: Yes, we'll help you set up a designated area for food and refreshments.

Q: Is there a full kitchen in the studio space?
A: Unfortunately, we don't have an oven or kitchen facilities. Please bring food that's ready to eat as we can't cook or reheat anything in the studio.

Q: Is there a refrigerator for us to use?
A: Unfortunately, no, we do not have a refrigerator. 


BOOKING AND PAYMENTS:

Q: How far in advance should I book the studio for an event?
A: It's recommended to book at least 4 to 6 weeks in advance, especially for peak times. The earlier you book the better.

Q: What payment methods do you accept for bookings?
A: We will email you an invoice through shopify. Full payment is required to secure your reservation.

Q: Is there a booking fee or deposit required?
A: Payments must be made in full to secure your booking.

Q: Can I reschedule my event after booking?
A: Depending on availability, rescheduling may be possible. Contact us as early as possible if you need to make changes. A $150 rescheduling fee will be applied.

Q: Can I cancel my event after booking?
A: We understand that things come up. You can cancel your event up to 31days before it’s scheduled, incurring a $150 cancellation fee. Just shoot us an email at events@chucklou.com to cancel. Unfortunately, cancellations within 30 days of your event does not qualify for a refund.

Q: Are there any hidden fees in the booking process?
A: No hidden fees. All costs, including optional add-ons, will be transparently communicated during the booking process.

Q: How is the $50 discount for us applied

A: We suggest you wear clothing you don't mind getting a bit colorful. Anything the dyes touch will be permanently vibrant!

Q: Can I wear my tie-dye shirt immediately after the session?
A: No, it will take 24 hours (sometimes longer) to dry. Then it will have to be washed and dried before you can wear it.


SAFETY:

Q: Are the tie-dye materials safe for children?
A: Yes, our tie-dye materials are safe for participants of all ages. Adult supervision is recommended for younger participants.

Q: How old do children have to be to participate in the Tie-Dye activity?
A: We suggest 4 and up. Adult supervision is recommended for younger participants.
